At Agroexperts, we built infrastructure for storing liquid fertilizers on Bulgarian farms. With the support of Agropolychim, this work helped change the market — from its traditional focus on granular fertilizers towards wider use of liquid products as well.
For us, this change meant more than offering a new fertilizer. Farmers needed practical answers: where would they receive deliveries, how would they store the product, and how would they incorporate it into their farm operations?
From choosing a product to being able to use it
A good crop nutrition solution must work in practice. Choosing a liquid fertilizer goes hand in hand with organising deliveries, storage and application.
This is where flexitanks found their role. Our first installations date from 2015, and the installed network in Bulgaria now exceeds 30,000 m³. Explore our solutions and installations.
What is a flexitank?
It is a closed flexible tank, delivered folded and installed on a prepared site. Labaronne-Citaf solutions can be installed outdoors or inside an existing building and configured to suit the available space.
The material and equipment are selected for the specific liquid. Compatibility with the fertilizer is confirmed before manufacture. Learn more about flexitanks.
How do we choose the right solution?
We start with four questions:
- Which product will be stored?
- What quantities and deliveries are planned?
- What site is available?
- Will future expansion be needed?
Capacity also takes the fertilizer’s density into account. One or several tanks can be used, including connection through a shared manifold. See the storage options.
The choice therefore starts with how the farm operates. Annual consumption is a starting point, but it is also necessary to discuss how much product will be held at any one time between delivery and application.
The site is part of the solution
The base must be level, horizontal, stable and free from sharp objects, with sufficient load-bearing capacity for the full tank. For nitrogen solutions, the manufacturer recommends a secondary containment system to retain liquid in the event of an incident. See the installation requirements.
The next step for your farm
Our experience began with the need to make liquid fertilizers practical for everyday operations. We still take the same approach today: discussing the product, deliveries and storage as connected decisions.
